"Cychotic" by Max Dahlhaus is a sonic odyssey through a realm of neon-lit decay, where the lines between humanity and machinery are blurred.

The album, a labyrinthine exploration of electronic music, features collaborations with a diverse array of artists, each lending their own unique perspective to the overall narrative.



The tape commences on "Chiasm," introducing the listener to the melancholic cacophony that serves as an aural prelude to the album. "ExRealism Feat. Joana Ivanova" brings in a sonorous crackle of cello and the operatic vocals of Joana Ivanova, contrasting classical and electronic elements to create a sense of unease.

"Meta Decoy" features a plethora of panning and a pristine yet gritty sound, building to a surprising harmony at the conclusion that disrupts the aural landscape.

"Clusterophobic" commences with distortion and crackling noise before introducing a melodic resolution.

"Rexec 4 Feat. Lamb" features staccato industrial sounds and the unexpected addition of a scream by Lamb, adding a layer of disquiet to the track. "Earth-Born Mother" serves as a departure from the darker tracks, with rolling and layering harmonies in 13/8 and 7/8 time signatures bringing a lightness to the album.



"Shared Memory Feat. Miziguruka" features recordings of natural ambiance and a melancholic, ambient sound, with a story by Miziguruka adding another layer to the LP.

"A PreRevolutionary Stat Feat. Grinderteeth" combines a robust synth bass and cello with a 90-esque vocalization by Grinderteeth, building to a rolling bass line that adds to the sense of unease.

"Acid Auf Mein Haupt" is a dark and disturbing track, evoking the feeling of a hallucinogenic aberration and the sense of being trapped in a never-ending pain.

"Wired" serves as a release from the darkness, with a club-ready techno beat that feels like a respite. The album concludes with the abrupt "SenseScan," featuring cello and noise that bring the LP to a close.



"Cychotic" is a thought-provoking and masterfully crafted electronic album that delves into the darker aspects of technology and humanity. With contributions from a variety of artists and a narrative that is open to interpretation, it is a must-listen for fans of complex electronic music.
